Day 20 -- Lyon

Tuesday, 26 September 2023

I met Justin at the Confluence Museum. While we were waiting in line for tickets, two big New Zealand dudes in front of us turned and asked if we knew how to buy tickets. We told them what we knew, and then we asked if they were in town for Friday's upcoming match. They said they hoped to go, but the main reason they were in Lyon was for the unveiling of a bench that the New Zealand rugby team -- the All Blacks -- was giving to the city. Tomorrow morning. One of the guys was the director of the cultural center where the bench was made, and the other guy was the carver. They told us the time and the place and we said we'd be there.

The museum had several exhibits, both permanent and temporary, about science and anthropology. I think we saw just about everything that they had.

The we took a tram back to a busier area to find lunch. We ate at La Patrie. Ravioli.

On the walk back to my hotel, I ended up at the base of the hill with the Notre-Dame Basilica at the top.

I went to Taco Taco across the Saône for a French burrito for dinner. I got it to go and took it back to the hotel.
