Day 34 -- Lille

Tuesday, 10 October 2023

I walked across town to Thai Street Food by Tony. They were closed when I tried them back on Day 17, so I gave them another shot. I'm glad I did. The red beef curry was really good.

Based on what the other employees were calling him, I think I met Tony.

I really like the aesthetics of the street signs in France. But the practicality -- not so much. They are typically on adjoining sides of a building on one corner of the intersection, so depending on the direction you are coming from, they can't be seen until you've already passed part way through the intersection.

On my way back to the hotel after the Thai food I stopped by a barber shop and had my beard trimmed. The barber was really friendly. His English was about as good as my French. But we still managed to communicate. I've never had my beard trimmed by a barber -- it was a nice experience.
